Michael Argyle in his book, The Psychology of Interpersonal Behaviour, in which he suggests that there are four steps in any interview. This can easily be adapted for a business advisory session. He describes the four steps as welcome, gathering information, supplying information and conclusion. These stages have been renamed to give a memorable acronym: GASP (Greeting, Acquiring, Supplying and Parting).
Let us look at each of the four components as they apply to a typical business advisory session that might be conducted by a business adviser working at a business support organisation, for example.
