Introduction to the training course
1.0 Entrepreneurship and Enterprise
This Module provides an overview of what makes an Entrepreneur, their motivations, and the barriers they face. It also examines specific requirements that certain groups (Women, Immigrants etc.) have, which you as a Business Adviser can implement, to assist their pathway to enterprise
2.0 Business Planning
This Module provides an overview of the essential components of a business plan. It offer guidance to enable you to work through the business plan template with your clients. It wil also assist you to explain to clients how business plans are assessed.
3.0 Strategic Planning
This Module provides an overview of the processes involved in strategic planning. It will better prepare you as a Business Adviser to work with clients to formulate and implement strategies, evaluate progress and to work with clients to ensure adjustments are made so as to stay on track.
4.0 Risk Management
This module presents a short history of research on risk and basic divisions into systematic and unsystematic one. It also raises an awareness of areas where risk can occur as there are detailed divisions represented. Moreover there are methods for calculations and assessment of risk introduced, so that it not only provides raw distinctions but also gives a knowledge about that risk can be assessed. In order to get readers familiar with more practical side of risk management case studies are provided. The self-assessment tool allows readers to check their knowledge.
5.0 Innovation Change Management
This Module intends to provide an overview of Innovation Change Management by introducing some concepts and tools so that you as a Business Adviser can be better prepared to assist your clients.
6.0 Access to Finance
This Modules overviews most of the sources of financing that are available to businesses and what are their main characteristics including its advantages and disadvantages compared with each other so that you as a Business Adviser are able to help your clients to decide on the best option to get funded.
